All-Ireland Gala Junior A Championship 2010
Carlow v London - 19 June 2010
London got off to a great start to the Championship with a 4-13 to 2-5 win over Carlow. No fewer than 8 Tara girls lined out for London in the first round of the All-Ireland Junior A Championship game. In a scorching hot Dr Cullen Park London got off to a great start with the first of a hatrick of goals from Rosie Cusack. Cusack replaced Maura McAuley after a injury to her finger after 10 minutes and with her first touch within a few minutes of walking onto the pitch netted for London's first goal. TCC now had 5 out of 6 of the London forward line. Sharp shooters Joanne Hamilton and Angela Kenneally were causing havoc in the Carlow defence. Hamilton on her debut for London looked very lively up front and tagged on some fine scores from play. London looked very sharp up front and some of the build up play was excellent. London's defense stood strong throughout and the half back line of Ann Gleeson (TCC), Bid Grennan (TCC) and Bronagh McLernon (FrM) dealt with alot of pressure from Carlow. Caroline Kelly as always was the engine of London battling hard at midfield and combining well with newcomer to the London sceen Sandra Martin. Denise Gilligan punished Carlow with her accurate free taking and picked off a fantastic score from 50 yards out, right on the sideline in the first half. The second half was more of the same from London, outclassing Carlow in many of the main area's on the field. Carlow did however tag on 2 goals that should have been dealth with by the London defense. Over all a good result for London but a lot more work to do.
R Cusack (3-0), Denise Gilligan (0-3), Angela Kenneally (0-3), Joanne Hamilton (0-3), Helen Murphy (0-2), Caroline Kelly (0-1), J O'Donovan (1-1)

All-Ireland Gala Junior A Championship 2010
Carlow v London - 19 June 2010
The League is done and dusted now and what could have been wasnt. This is Championship and with new Management and all clubs and the county team out training hard, London probably have as good a chance as ever.
Sean Quinn stepped down as Manager just after the League and Brian Mansfield (Tara), Brendan Early & Cormac Whelan (Murphys) have taken over the reins. First up for London is an away fixture to Carlow on Saturday 19 June at Dr Cullen Park followed by a home fixture to Tyrone on Saturday 26th June. Not too much is known about Carlow as they gave a walk-over to London in the League fixture but you can bet that they'll be up for this challenge.
London again will have a fair few Tara ladies on its books and are hoping that sharp shooter Angela Kenneally continues her scoring rate since the League. A welcome addition to the squad is Tara's Denise Gilligan who has won All-Irelands at all grades with Galway. Denise is a maestro free-taker and during play teams up well fellow team mate and county team newcomer Joanne Hamilton. London will be without Bromwyn Keeshan and Anne Marie Keogh who picked up injuries during the league.
Best of Luck ladies.

London Camogie County Team - New Management
The London County Board announced that Brian Mansfield (Tara), Brendan Early & Cormac Whelan (Murphys) will take over the county camogie team for the Championship. Mansfield, who hails from Waterford, joined Tara
18 months ago and helped steer them to their first Senior Championship title in 14 years. Indeed Tara made a clean sweep of London last year, winning all 4 trophies. Brendan Early has this year joined Murphys as Manager and plays his club hurling with Robert Emmetts. They will be assisted by physio Cormac Whelan. |

League Division 4
The Drama Continues......
The draw has been made and Westmeath got the bye to the Final whilst London must pack their bags and travel to Tyrone. So not only is the scamper on to get flights to Belfast this weekend, its a fight for a place in the League Final. Tyrone would by no means be an easy fixture after knocking up some great scores against Carlow and travelling to and beating Westmeath. London you'd imagine would be confident enough having beaten Tyrone a couple weeks past and with the addition of some new faces this surely helps strenghten the squad. London are flush with Tara Ladies and we wish them best of luck for the weekend. Tara girls: Bid Grennan (C), Angela Kenneally, Helen Murphy (all KK),
Ann Gleeson (Tipp), Aine Digan (Offaly), Caroline Kelly (Galway), Danika Harrison (Clare) , Rosie Cusack (Australia, yes Australia). |

Tyrone beat Westmeath - Sun 14 March
Tryone travelled to Westmeath and got the victory they needed to ensure a chance of progressing in the competition, with only a point to spare 3-3 to 2-4. With Carlow out of the picture the 3 remaining teams each have one result under their belts so a play-off is imminent. Its likely that one team will be drawn out of a hat and straight into the League Final while the other 2 go again next weekend.

London 2-4 v 1-6 Tyrone ~ League Division 4 - Sat 6 March 2010

A late goal by full forward Angela Kenneally was just enough to secure victory for London in this National Junior Camogie League tie against Tyrone at Tir Chonaill Park, Greenford, on Saturday last.
London are now in with a chance of either the play-offs or a place in the League Finals. With Carlow failing to travel to Westmeath at the weekend and unfortunately they are unable to travel to London this weekend so the Westmeath/Tyrone match is a crunch fixture. A Westmeath victory will see London reach the final and a Tyrone victory will see a play-off with one team getting a bye to the Final.

London 1-7 v 3-3 Westmeath ~ League Division 4 - Sat 27 Feb 2010
Angela Kenneally scores 1-5 but still not enough to see off Westmeath. Speedy recovery to Bromwyn Keeshan and Brenda Kerr who picked up knocks in the game.
